President Joe Biden delivered his inaugural foreign policy speech as president during a visit to the State Department. The statement came after comments from agency staff and a meeting with Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken.

White House Press Secretary Jane Sasaki told reporters Wednesday that Mr. Biden’s visit was “focused on thanking the men and women among us – the foreign service officers, the civil servants, the heart and soul of the organization and, to be honest, our government.”

Pakasi said the president would speak “broadly” about foreign policy, but cautioned his remarks that “every issue and every foreign policy issue will not have his point of view.” Mr Biden has vowed to repair alliances in the fight under the Trump administration and has repeatedly declared that “America is back” as a leader on the world stage.
